Quick Answer
Yes! I’ve seen The Haygoods probably seven times, including their Christmas show a couple of times, and they are one of the Branson shows I recommend the most.
It’s one of those shows that works for almost everybody. Little kids love it. Teenagers love it. Parents love it. Grandparents love it.
The only complaints I’ve really heard have been from people well into their 80s who thought it was too loud. 😂
The Haygoods Christmas Show at a Glance
📍 Location: Clay Cooper Theatre on the Branson Strip
👨👩👧👦 Best For: Families with a mix of ages. If Grandma, Mom, a teenager and a six-year-old all need to agree on one show, this is a pretty safe choice.
🎄 Christmas Show: The times I’ve seen it, the first part has felt more like their regular show and then Christmas takes over later.
⏰ Time Needed: Around two hours, including intermission.
⭐ My Take: Easily one of my top five shows in Branson and probably the one I recommend to the widest range of people.
Satirah’s Tip
Get there early!
Parking at Clay Cooper Theatre can get a little crazy, and if you don’t want to end up parking across the street, give yourself some extra time.
And while we’re talking about things I learned the hard way at The Haygoods, let me tell you about the kiss cam.
I went to the show once with some clients. The parents had bought a house from me, and their son had bought one from me too. I happened to be sitting next to the son, who was definitely NOT my husband, but did happen to have a beard.
Apparently, that was close enough for the kiss cam.
Of course they put the two of us up on the big screen.
It was one of the most awkward things I’ve ever lived through. 😂
So if you see the kiss cam coming your way, you’ve been warned!
Why I Recommend The Haygoods So Much
You never quite know what’s going to happen next.
One minute it’s tender and sweet. The next minute you’re laughing your butt off. Then there are plenty of moments where you’re just sitting there going WOW.
That’s also why I think younger kids tend to do so well at this show.
There are loud songs where they can clap along and funny moments where they can get their giggles out. There are slower, softer songs mixed in too, but most little kids can handle sitting quietly for a song or two when the next thing is probably going to be loud and exciting again.
What About Sensory-Sensitive Kids?
This may not be the show for them.
There are flashing and strobe lights, loud music, special effects and lots of stuff happening.
For most kids, that’s part of the fun.
But if you have a child who is sensitive to loud noises, flashing lights or a lot of stimulation happening at once, I would probably choose a different Branson Christmas show.
