Early May in Branson

Early May is honestly one of my favorite times to be in Branson. The weather is good, things are open, but it doesn’t feel crazy yet.
Springfest at Shepherd of the Hills starts May 7, and Ozarks Aglow runs through the end of the month.
You can also still catch Nature at Night through Memorial Day weekend, which is one of the more unique things to do once evenings warm up.
Grease is happening May 8 and 9 at Cakes & Creams Dessert Parlor, and Mother’s Day falls on May 10, so if you’re coming that weekend, go ahead and plan ahead a little.

Mid-May Is Where Things Start Stacking Up

Around May 15, Branson starts acting different.
You’ve got Spring Fling downtown on May 15 and 16, and Moonshine Beach opens that same day, which is usually when it really starts to feel like summer.
There’s also a barn dance at Sycamore Creek Ranch and the VW Show and Swap happening May 15 through 17.
That weekend alone? Pick one thing and commit. You’re probably not doing it all.

Memorial Day Week in Branson

Memorial Day is May 25, but let’s be honest, starting around May 21, this town is busy.
The AquaPlex opens May 23, and the Branson Landing free concert series kicks off around the same time.
If you’re coming in during this stretch, expect traffic, longer wait times, and a lot more people everywhere you go.

End of May Events

Slammed Enough is happening May 30, which brings in a completely different crowd and adds even more energy to the end of the month.
Also, word on the street, and I’ll update this when I know more, but it sounds like the Massengale Brothers might be doing an Alan Jackson tribute night somewhere local on May 22.

Final Thoughts

May is one of the best times to visit Branson, you just need to know what you’re walking into.
Early May is quieter and easier.
Mid to late May is busier, with more events and more going on.
Memorial Day week is the kickoff to summer, and it shows.
