Pizza and Italian Food in Branson, Missouri (My Honest Opinions!)

Pizza and Italian Food in Branson, Missouri (My Honest Opinions!)

If you’re coming to Branson, Missouri, you’ll quickly notice that we have a lot of pizza places and a couple of Italian restaurants.

And I have some pretty spicy opinions about them!

Just because a place gets good reviews does not mean it’s worth your time or money, especially if you’re on vacation. And when it comes to Italian food, if you’re hoping for a romantic date night vibe with incredible food, I’m just being honest, you’re probably not going to find that here.

What you will find are some solid, dependable spots that people enjoy for different reasons!

Florentina’s is one of the main Italian restaurants in town and has a 4.7 Google rating. I think the food is on par with something like Olive Garden, but it is owned by a local company. I don’t hate the food, but the decor looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 90s. If you want a decent Italian meal right in the middle of town, this is your best option!

Mr. Gilberti’s is our other Italian restaurant, but fair warning, it’s out in the boonies! The inside feels like an old school Pizza Hut or Mazzio’s. I personally think the Italian food here is slightly better than Florentina’s, although that is just my opinion. They also have my husband’s favorite Chicago style pizza and hold a 4.5 Google rating.

Now do not confuse Mr. Gilberti’s with Mr. G’s!

Mr. G’s is a hidden gem in downtown Branson. You could walk right by and never realize it’s there. It also has that old school pizza place vibe, but I’m actually not mad about it here! Their appetizers are incredible, and they earn their 4.5 Google rating.

Mellow Mushroom is another solid choice with a 4.5 Google rating and a convenient location at Branson Landing. This is a big hit with families and kids thanks to the super groovy decor. Make sure you try the French bread pizza!

Rocco’s is a good option if you’re on the north side of town. There’s nothing particularly fancy about the restaurant, but the pizza is good, and I love their salads. They have a 4.7 Google rating.

If you’re heading west toward Silver Dollar City, you need to stop at Ozark Mountain Pizza! People rave about their pizza, but my favorite thing on the menu is actually the pasta bakes. They hold a 4.5 Google rating and are well loved by locals.

Just over the bridge in Hollister, less than five minutes from downtown Branson and the Landing, you’ll find two fantastic pizza options!

Turkey Creek Brewery is my personal favorite pizza spot. My husband loves the variety of beers, and I love the thin crust pizza that comes straight out of the oven. It feels like you’re hanging out in an old English tavern and is a really fun place to spend time with friends. Their 4.9 Google rating is absolutely deserved!

If you’re looking for a more family friendly spot in Hollister, Hook and Ladder Pizza is a great choice. The firehouse themed decor is fun, the food is solid, and they have a 4.6 Google rating.

Now let’s talk about Godfather’s Pizza!

Yes, it’s a chain. And no, I’m not talking about it because of the pizza, even though the buffet is decent. I’m talking about it because of the fried chicken!

Anytime someone asks about the best fried chicken in Branson, people will tell you a pizza place. Godfather’s Pizza is the reason. The salad bar is also great, and if you want a pizza place that offers a little something extra right in the middle of town, this is a solid option. They hold a 4.3 Google rating.

If you want more food recommendations, you can always check the Places to Eat tab on this website. Everything is broken down by category, and I only include places with a 4.3 Google rating or higher, because that’s basically making an 85 percent on a test!

And when you’re on vacation, that matters!
