If you’re looking for an affordable place near Branson where the kids can play, everyone can find something they actually want to eat, and you don’t have to spend a fortune, I think Leara Family Farms is worth the short drive.

Located just past Silver Dollar City, it’s not far from Branson, but it feels like a slower pace than many of the area’s larger attractions.

This isn’t a giant attraction that’ll keep you busy all day.

It’s a fun place to spend a couple of hours, grab something to eat, and let the kids be kids. It isn’t polished or fancy, and I think that’s part of its charm.

If you’re visiting during the Sunset Multicultural Harvest Festival, I’d plan to arrive around dinner. Grab something to eat, wander through the Mercado, and stick around as the lights come on. I think that’s when you’ll get the best feel for what they’re creating.

Come Hungry

One of my favorite things about Lera Family Farms is that it isn’t just one restaurant.

Instead, it’s a collection of food trucks and small eateries gathered together in one spot. That means everyone in your family can order something different and meet back up to eat together.

If you’ve ever traveled with kids, you know how valuable that is.

One person wants tacos.

Another wants ramen.

Somebody else is craving Thai food.

And yes… someone is probably already asking for ice cream.

You’ll find everything from tacos, Thai food, ramen, baked treats, and ice cream to several other local favorites.

My personal favorite?

Chubby Cactus Taco.

Those tacos are the reason we stopped the first time, and they’re still one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back.

Let the Kids Burn Off Some Energy

After everyone finishes eating, head over to the Family Fun Area.

Admission is just $5 per person, and the little barrel train is only $1 per ride.

Honestly, I wish more places were this affordable.

The playground isn’t elaborate, and I don’t mean that as a negative. It feels homemade, relaxed, and refreshingly simple.

Kids can climb, explore, visit the farm animals, and just enjoy being kids for a while.

If you’re planning a fall trip to Branson, I’d put Lera Family Farms on your list for an evening out.

On weekends from September 25 through October 25, they’re hosting the Sunset Multicultural Harvest Festival, and it sounds like the evenings are when this place will really come alive.

Start with dinner from one of the food vendors, then wander through the new Leara Family Farm Mercado, where you’ll find handcrafted goods, Mexican imports, seasonal décor, gifts, and other local finds.

As the sun goes down, the lights come on, the trees begin to glow, and the farm transforms into a relaxed evening market where families can slow down and enjoy the season together.

The kids can spend time in the Family Fun Area, there will be piñata celebrations and other seasonal activities throughout the festival, and you’ll have a chance to enjoy a fall evening that’s a little different from the typical Branson attraction.

One thing I especially like is that there’s no admission fee to visit the farm, eat, or shop the Mercado. If the kids want to play in the Family Fun Area, admission is still just $5 per person.

I love that they’re creating another option for families looking for something to do after dinner during the fall season.

Is Lera Family Farms Worth Visiting?

I think so.

If you’re looking for a huge attraction that’ll keep your family entertained all day, this probably isn’t it.

But if you’re looking for an affordable place where everyone can grab something different to eat, the kids can burn off some energy, and you can slow down for a couple of hours, I think it’s absolutely worth adding to your Branson itinerary.

Some of my favorite family memories aren’t always from the biggest attractions. Sometimes they’re from simple places where nobody is in a hurry and everyone is just enjoying being together.
