Branson Christkindlmarkt 2026: Everything You Need to Know

Christmas is a BIG deal in Branson, Missouri. More than 20% of our visitors come during the Christmas season, and this year we’re getting something completely new.

The Branson Christkindlmarkt is officially coming to Branson Meadows Shoppes, and I am ridiculously excited about this one.

And for everyone who watched my first video and panicked a little when I said, “if the city approves it”…they did! The event has been approved and now they’re working through all the detailed plans.

So what exactly is a Christkindlmarkt?

If you’ve never been to a European Christmas market, this isn’t your grandma’s craft fair.

There will be wooden European-style market huts, handcrafted glass Christmas ornaments, Polish pottery, handmade items, candles, chocolates, seasonal Christmas pastries and all kinds of specialty Christmas gifts.

It’s definitely a little more elevated. Fancy Nancy is going to be happy here.

But don’t get the idea that this is some stuffy shopping event either. Your husband can grab a beer, find a spot by the fire and listen to some entertainment while you shop. There will be food, hot chocolate, cider, photo opportunities and plenty of places to just hang out.

Basically, your rich auntie AND Average Joe can have a good time.

And the hanging out is a big part of the whole European Christmas market experience. You’re supposed to grab something to eat, get a drink, shop a little and stay awhile.

They’re even putting up a large warming and entertainment tent, which we are all going to be thankful for when Missouri decides it’s actually winter.

And yes, there will be mulled wine

Drinks are a big part of European Christmas market culture.

I’m not talking about everybody standing around getting drunk. One of the big traditions is mulled wine, which is warm wine with spices. There will also be beer, hot chocolate and cider.

They’re also planning a collectible Branson Christkindlmarkt boot mug dated 2026.

And I already know how this is going to go. If they make a different one every year, some of us are going to end up with an entire cabinet full of Christmas boot mugs.

How to fit the Christkindlmarkt into your Branson trip

This is an easy one to work into an afternoon or evening when you have some free time.

Spend an hour or spend the whole evening. Do a little Christmas shopping, grab one of the seasonal pastries, get a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate and hang out by the fire.

You could even stop by after a spa appointment at Birch & Willow, which is right there at Branson Meadows. Then head to dinner or catch a show.

There are actually two theaters at Branson Meadows, and I have discount tickets for both of them! You can save on tickets to see Taylor Reed or catch a show at The Showroom. I’ll link both of those discounts here so you can make an entire afternoon and evening out of it.

And I really love seeing this whole area come back to life. We have the theaters, new businesses coming in, and some of my longtime favorites like Yesteryear’s Antiques and Birch & Willow Spa.

A Christmas market feels like a pretty fabulous addition.
