Most people know Gettin’ Basted for the award-winning barbecue.

Me? I’m here to tell you about breakfast.

Don’t get me wrong, the barbecue is popular for a reason. Owner Brad Leighninger knows what he’s doing. Just walk around the restaurant and you’ll see awards everywhere. He even competed on Food Network’s BBQ Brawl, where he finished second. Ask around Branson and you’ll quickly find out Brad owns several of the town’s favorite restaurants.

But if you’re asking me what keeps bringing me back…

It’s breakfast.

I honestly think Gettin’ Basted serves the best breakfast in Branson when it comes to flavor and food quality.

Here’s What I’d Order

If we’re here for breakfast, I’m ordering the Brisket Breakfast Tacos.

Y’all…

A little smear of beans.

A fried egg.

A thick slab of brisket.

That smoky salsa…

It’s beyond delicious.

Then we’re ordering the Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread for the table.

Branson is famous for cinnamon rolls and, of course, the cinnamon bread at Silver Dollar City.

Yeah…

You can forget all that mess.

This pull-apart bread leaves them both in the dust.

Now, if we’re coming for lunch or dinner, my husband and I almost always split the Judge’s Platter. It’s the easiest way to sample a little bit of everything.

One thing I always do is ask them not to put extra barbecue sauce over my meat. I’d rather taste the barbecue first and add sauce myself if I want it.

If they have burnt ends, order them.

Just don’t wait too long because they’re known to sell out.

And whatever you do…

Don’t skip the Cream Corn Brûlée.

That side dish is worth ordering all by itself.

One warning…

I have absolutely no idea how I manage it, but I leave this restaurant with something on my shirt almost every single visit.

Apparently brisket breakfast tacos are my fashion weakness.

Before You Go

Gettin’ Basted is right on the Branson Strip, making it an easy stop before a show, after shopping, or on your way to Silver Dollar City.

Most people come for the barbecue.

I think you should come back for breakfast.

If you’ve only eaten here once, you’ve only experienced half of what makes this place special.
