Who Should Stay at Grand Plaza Hotel?

Grand Plaza is for the person who wants a good room at a good price in a fantastic location and doesn’t need a fancy resort experience.

You’re right off the Branson Strip, basically next door to Tanger Outlets, and close to a ridiculous amount of stuff. You can absolutely walk up the slight hill to Highway 76 and get to restaurants, shopping, shows and attractions without having to move your car every five minutes.

And there’s one thing about this hotel that I think gets overlooked.

The views are incredible.

Grand Plaza Is Making a Comeback

If you’ve been coming to Branson for a long time, you probably remember Grand Plaza.

Back in the day, this was one of the prettier hotels in town. Then it definitely saw better days and eventually closed for a while in 2025.

It has since reopened, and I went over recently and toured all of the different room types to see what they’ve done with the place.

I’ll admit, when I first walked in, I wasn’t completely sure what I was going to find. The lobby is still pretty basic.

Then I got upstairs.

The rooms were a very pleasant surprise.

They’ve had a nice makeover with new bed frames, new mattresses, new linens and other updates, and they feel much fresher than what you might expect when you first walk into the building.

For the price point, I was impressed.

There Are More Room Options Than You Might Expect

Grand Plaza has more than 200 rooms, and you’re not limited to your basic two-beds-and-a-bathroom hotel room.

They have regular rooms, rooms with Jacuzzi tubs, and some surprisingly nice suites with separate bedrooms and living areas.

So this could work for a couple coming to Branson for the weekend or a family that wants a little more room to spread out.

Now here’s my little insider tip.

Call the hotel before your trip and ask if they can put you in one of the upper-floor rooms.

I can’t promise they’ll always be able to do it, but it is absolutely worth asking because the higher you go, the better those views get.

You’ll thank me when you see it.

Breakfast on the Ninth Floor

Breakfast is served all the way up on the ninth floor, so even if you don’t get one of those upper-floor rooms, you’ll still get to enjoy the view in the morning.

And it’s a legitimate hotel breakfast.

They have hot items, a waffle maker and all the other things you’d expect to find on a breakfast buffet at a decent hotel. It’s not a fancy brunch, but it’s a good breakfast and it’s included with your stay.

But I have a little inside scoop on this floor too.

They’re currently working on putting a restaurant on the ninth floor, and I happen to know the guys behind Hidden Pines and Summit are involved.

If you’re familiar with what they’ve been doing around Branson, you’ll understand why I’m pretty excited to see what they do with this space.

I’ve also heard talk about a possible pop-up bar up there.

And this part is just me speculating, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we eventually saw some sort of brunch upgrade happening up there too. That ninth-floor space and those views are practically begging for it.

I’ll keep you posted as I find out more because I have a feeling the ninth floor is going to become one of the most interesting parts of this hotel.

What Else Does Grand Plaza Have?

There’s an indoor pool and hot tub, which is always nice to have if you’re traveling with kids or visiting Branson when the weather isn’t cooperating.

The pool area has had some updates. I wouldn’t book the hotel specifically for the pool, but it does the job.

They also have conference and meeting space, which makes Grand Plaza worth looking at if you’re bringing a group to Branson.

But for me, the biggest selling points aren’t really the extra amenities.

It’s the combination of price + room + location + breakfast + those views.

That’s where I think Grand Plaza makes sense.

Would I Stay at Grand Plaza Hotel?

Yep.

Just go into it knowing what you’re booking.

This isn’t Big Cedar. You’re not walking into some giant luxury lobby where you’re immediately pulling out your phone to take pictures.

What you’re getting is an older Branson hotel that’s being brought back to life, with rooms that have had a nice makeover, a good breakfast, an indoor pool, several room options and one of the most convenient locations in town.

For what you’re paying, I think there’s a lot of value here.

And if they pull off what they’re planning for that ninth floor? This place could get very interesting.
