If you’ve never been to Downtown Hollister, you’re in for a surprise.

The entire area was designed to look like you’ve stepped into an old English hamlet. Then you walk into the Ye Olde English Inn, and suddenly it feels like you’re exploring a castle instead of a hotel in Missouri.

Just off the lobby, you’ll find Downing Street Pour House.

This is one of those places that sneaks up on you.

You walk through the doors and your brain starts wondering what you’re looking at. Then you step into the pub, the food arrives, and before long you’re wondering why more people aren’t talking about it.

This is one of the few casual restaurants around Branson that I’d recommend to someone who really appreciates good food.

Here’s What I’d Order

The burgers have a big local following, and for good reason. They’re some of the best around.

But here’s the surprise…

I’m usually not much of a Reuben person.

This one changed my mind.

It was absolutely incredible.

If you’re stopping in for a drink, belly up to the bar and order a Guinness, or let the bartender help you find something you’ll enjoy.

Whether you’re just grabbing a drink or sitting down for a full meal, you really can’t go wrong here.

Before You Go

If the weather is nice, ask to sit on the back patio during the day.

It’s one of my favorite lunch patios around Branson.

In the evening, the whole place takes on a completely different personality.

The patio settles into the shade, the pub starts feeling even more like an English tavern, and it’s the kind of place where you grab your bestie, order another drink, and end up staying longer than you planned.

It’s a fantastic date night spot, and it’s also great for groups if you call ahead.

Kids are certainly welcome, but I’d say this place is more about the atmosphere than entertaining little ones.
