Best Ice Cream in Branson, Missouri | Local Favorites + Hidden Gems

Best Ice Cream in Branson, Missouri (Local Favorites + Hidden Gems)

Every summer I get asked the same thing: where’s the best place to get ice cream in Branson?

And don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!

Whether you want something right on the strip, homemade ice cream, allergy-friendly options, or a hidden gem worth leaving the strip for, here are some of my favorite dessert spots around Branson and Hollister.

If You Just Want My Short List

🍦 Classic Branson → Andy’s Frozen Custard
🍦 Cheap Treat → Abby’s Tourist Trap
🍦 Foodie Pick → Crepes and Creams
🍦 Hidden Gem → Sweet Shack
🍦 Homemade → The Keeter Center
🍦 Food Allergies → Sweet Susie’s

Easy Dessert Stops While You’re Out Exploring

Andy’s Frozen Custard

This one is a Branson classic.

Right on the strip in the middle of everything, so chances are you’ll drive past it at least once.

One thing people don’t realize is this was one of the original locations and it’s not a part of the chain.

It’s a walk-up window and feels like one of those classic summer vacation stops.

Abby’s Tourist Trap

People love this place because it’s cheap!

If your kids somehow burn through spending money in approximately four minutes, this is a solid stop.

Ice cream, cookies, fudge… there’s a lot happening in here.

This is one of those places where people walk in for one thing and leave with three.

YOLO Rolled Ice Cream & Candy Co.

If you want dessert to feel like an experience, this is a fun one.

They make rolled ice cream in front of you and people always forget they also have a candy shop attached.

You’re paying for the experience here and honestly I think most people know that going in.

Mel’s Hard Luck Diner

I cannot believe I forgot this one in the video.

Mel’s is famous for the singing waiters and waitresses and honestly, that alone makes this place memorable.

Now I’m going to say something slightly controversial.

The food would not be my first choice in Branson.

But if I’m specifically craving a giant shake, classic banana split, or an over-the-top sundae, this place is hard to beat.

The desserts are huge and the entertainment is free.

Cakes & Cream Fifties Diner

Do not confuse this with Crepes and Creams.

This is the retro dessert stop you don’t want to miss.

Ice cream. Cakes. Pie. Burgers.

This one feels more like an experience than a dessert run.

Dessert Stops Worth Saving Room For

Crepes and Creams

This place deserves more attention.

Yes, they have rolled ice cream.

But my favorite thing is actually the Banana Nutella Crepe.

Everything tastes elevated in a way that feels different from your average dessert stop.

Save room.

Sweet Susie’s

One of my personal favorites.

If you have food allergies, dairy issues, gluten issues, or just need options, people love this place.

Lots of flavors.

Lots of toppings.

Dessert should not be stressful on vacation and this place makes it easy.

My favorite is white chocolate.

Worth Leaving the Strip For

The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks

If you’re a foodie, go!

Their homemade ice cream rotates and the ice cream counter sits inside the hotel lobby area.

And while you’re there, the restaurant is fantastic.

This is one of those places where I’d just make an evening out of it.

Sweet Shack

This one feels like a hidden gem.

If you’re already headed into Hollister or exploring around Downing Street, make the stop.

Honestly, that whole area feels like a little English village.

The homemade ice cream is excellent and the burgers surprised me.

Funky Twig

If you’re headed west of town, don’t skip this one.

Really good ice cream.

Super cute inside.

Feels like something that belongs on Instagram.

Not Technically Ice Cream, But I’m Including Them Anyway

Magnolia Bistro & Italian Ice

OK, technically not ice cream.

But I’m making the rules.

This might honestly be one of my favorite Italian ice experiences around.

And if you want to turn dessert into a grown-up outing, they also offer adult beverages.

Great stop if you’re already walking Branson Landing.

Dolce Vita Italian Ice

Again, not technically ice cream.

But on a brutally hot day, sometimes Italian ice is exactly what you want.

This deserves a mention.

Extra Sweet Stops

Kilwins

Yes, they have good ice cream.

But every single time I walk in there I somehow leave with toffee and fudge.

So do with that information what you will.

Classic Downtown Stop

Mr. B’s Ice Cream Parlor

If you want old-school Branson, this belongs on your list.

Simple.

Classic.

Generous scoops.

Feels like stepping into a traditional ice cream stop.

Final Thoughts

Branson has way more good dessert than people give it credit for.

Tell me what I missed because I know y’all have opinions on dessert.
